Don't try to use the whole painting. Panoramas like this can be daunting

panorama

From this we can choose many different views and formats to paint.

pan1
concentrates on the dramatic cloud forms
pan2

Make your focal point the "v" shape between the hills with the clump of trees.

Note nice diagonals leading the eye to the focal point

pan3

Tall format minimises regression and draws attention to the forground.

Don't paint all your dark colours in the mid range mountain. Leave your darkest darks for the foreground

pan4
Make the sky less dramatic if you want to put more detail in the foreground
pan5

You can either make the lake or the "v" in the hills the focal point. Choose either one but not both.

If you choose the lake make it more dramatic by adding some bright reflections on the water.
